The Spatial Econometrics Advanced Institute (SEAI) is the advanced school of the Spatial Econometrics Association. It is held yearly. It is a unique opportunity to be introduced to the methods and practice of Spatial Econometrics by the leading experts in the field.
ACTIVITIES
The program of activities will span over the two days preceeding the SEA world conference in Rabat with 3 hours a day devoted to lectures and 2 hours a day to coding laboratory in R.
CLASSES
Module 1: Spatial Econometrics Foundations
- Historical development and foundational concepts (Tobler’s Law, spatial weights, Moran’s I);
- SARAR models (SLM, SEM, SDM) with ML/2SLS estimation techniques;
- Spatial autocorrelation testing and impact analysis.
Module 2: Spatial Panel Data Methods
- Fixed/random effects models with spatial extensions;
- Endogeneity solutions (spatial Hausman-Taylor, Mundlak estimators);
- Dynamic spatial panels, forecasting, and software implementation (Stata).
